Trap League

Come join in on the fun with Maury County Gun Club’s Fall and Spring Trap League! Assemble your 5-person squads and send in your team roster—complete with shooting order and each shooter’s ATA or SCTP category (not both). Don’t have a full squad? No problem! We’ll pair you with other participants to complete a team.

FALL TRAP LEAGUE
-Begins Thursday, August 21, 2025
-$15.00 fee per person will be used to purchase trophies given at the banquet.

  • League will run every Thursday for eight weeks followed by an awards banquet.  The club will open at 4:00pm and remain open until it is too dark to shoot.
  •  Form your 5 person squads and text or email me their names in shooting order along with each persons ATA or SCTP category (not both).  For those that can’t find a squad, we will put you together with others to form a squad.
  • Procedures and Rules:
Each squad will shoot one box of shells from the 16-yard line.  The second box will be handicap, yardage to be determined by your squad average score on your first box.  Example, your first box scores were 20 for the first shooter, 24 for the second shooter, 19 for the third shooter, 22 for the fourth shooter and 17 for the fifth shooter.  Add up all five scores and divide by the number of shooters.  20+24+19+22+17=102 divide 102 by 5 = 20.4 You will shoot your handicap box from the 20-yard line. Round up if .5 and above, round down if below .5.  The minimum yardage for handicap is the 20-yard line.
  • Make-up Round Procedures:
Over the eight weeks of league, life will invariably force you to miss a week or two.  You can make-up by shooting as a full squad, partial squad or as an individual.  If making-up as an individual your first box score will be your handicap yardage because you don’t have anyone with whom to average.  Example, you are shooting a make-up by yourself and get lucky and shoot a perfect 25 your handicap yardage will be the 25-yard line.

Trap League is always a lot of fun and the competition makes it even better, so don’t miss out.  Put together a squad and come out on Thursday evenings. Contact Bob Terry by text or email with your squad or more information (615-330-7173)
